Karen is a former TV presenter and reporter with BBC Look East, and also presented documentaries for the BBC 2 Matter of Fact series. She started her journalism career on the Braintree & Witham Times, before moving to the Colchester Gazette as the Health Reporter. She spent four years as a radio reporter and newsreader with BBC Essex before moving into television. She is a co-founder of Mosaic and has been media training captains of industry for over 20 years. As a graduate in Publishing and Computer Studies, she loves all things techie, and has an MSc in Digital Marketing Communications. Karen also delivers the Chartered Institute of Marketing Digital Marketing Strategy course on behalf of the Academy for Marketing.
Kevin spent more than 20 years with the BBC, the latter half as a TV reporter with BBC Look East and a parliamentary reporter and producer on the BBC’s East at Westminster programme. He has worked on Radios 1, 2 and 4 and was a sub editor on Ceefax. He has also worked for numerous local radio stations, including BBC Essex. He is a past National President of the Round Table organisation and has been passing on his media training and presentation skills for over a decade. Kevin is currently a Borough and County Councillor in Essex and is the Chair for the Local Government Association (LGA) Task and Finish Group for Brexit.
Jenny has more than 20 years’ experience in senior PR and communications roles in higher education and with the police, and is passionate about good communications. She started out as a newspaper journalist on weekly, evening and morning titles in Essex, and loves meeting people and writing their story. She has expertise in PR strategy and campaign development, crisis management, media training, internal communications, print and electronic publications.
Ruth is a former BBC broadcast journalist, producer and researcher. She then moved into media liaison and PR working firstly in the police service and then for a range of private sector clients. She also has significant experience in the development of strategy, governance and policy. Her media training clients include the MOD and the NHS. Ruth is also an experienced virtual facilitator in training, meeting and conference settings.
