Mosaic Media Training is a well-established training agency based in Essex. Not only are our trainers all former BBC radio and TV reporters or newspaper editors, but we are also skilled public relations practitioners. This means your experience is as real as it gets!

Kevin Bentley, Mosaic Media Training

Kevin Bentley spent more than 20 years with the BBC, the latter half as a TV reporter with BBC Look East and a parliamentary reporter and producer on the BBC’s East at Westminster programme.He has worked on Radios 1,2 and 4 and was a sub editor on Ceefax.He has also worked for numerous local radio stations, including BBC Essex. He is a past National President of the Round Table organisation and has been passing on his media training and presentation skills for over a decade.

Karen Ainley, Mosaic Media Training

Karen Ainley is a former TV presenter and reporter with BBC Look East, and also presented documentaries for the BBC 2 Matter of Fact series. She started her journalism career on the Braintree & Witham Times, before moving to the Colchester Evening Gazette as the Health Reporter.She spent four years as a radio reporter and newsreader with BBC Essex before moving into television. She is a co-founder of Mosaic Publicity and has been media training captains of industry for over a decade. As a graduate in Publishing and Computer Studies, she loves all things techie, and has recently completed an MSc in Digital Marketing.

Irene Kettle, Mosaic Media Training

Irene Kettle has been a journalist for more than 30 years. She was Editor-in-Chief of Essex County Newspapers, Editor of the four edition Evening Gazette and the Essex County Standard. During her time working in newspapers Irene also worked as a reporter, sub-editor and group news editor. She has experience of NHS communications having worked as Head of Internal and External Relations for a Primary Care Trust. Irene now works as a freelance media consultant and several times a year helps with the National Council For the Training of Journalists’ examinations.

John Whyte-Venables, Mosaic Media Training

John Whyte-Venables is a journalist with many years’ experience in BBC radio, television and online news as a reporter, producer, specialist science and environment correspondent and journalism instructor. He is a CIPR Trainer and Excellence Awards judge. He is a former Press Fellow of Wolfson College, Cambridge, and the author of four books about the media. As well as delivering training courses in broadcast skills, he is Mosaic's lead trainer in video production for the web.

Media Trainer Darius Laws from Mosaic Publicity

Darius G Laws has over a decade’s experience in producing, scripting, directing and shooting everything from social media videos to traditional broadcast news, brand-funded video, live studio and location-based content. He has worked with leading consumer brands, government departments, local authorities and charities. He was nominated for ‘Short Film Director’ in the Royal Television Society Awards, is an award winner at the Edinburgh International TV Festival and has produced content which won PR Week Awards. Darius has interviewed and directed the likes of Boris Johnson, Gok Wan and Lewis Hamilton.

Gemma Rawlinson, Mosaic Media Training

Gemma Rawlinson is responsible for managing our media training bookings. Gemma oversees sales and marketing at Mosaic and keeps all of the cogs turning! A member of the board of management, she was runner-up for CIPR Young Communicator of the Year and has recently achieved a CIM Professional Marketing Diploma. Gemma works with the Mosaic team to keep the office running smoothly and she also oversees Mosaic’s media training department, Mosaic’s social media platforms and assists with events management. In her spare time Gemma is also a trained yoga teacher and puts this to good use in the office - promoting staff wellbeing.
